A little Halloween help please!

I'm at a loss for what I want The Snack to be for Halloween this year. Last year I made him this Leprechaun costume - I did it completely from my head...no pattern, just made it up as I went along. Needless to say, it was quite a challenge, and took a bit of time....so I don't think I'll go that route this year...unless I can think really fast!

So I need ideas! I'm just not getting any inspiration. I'm sure if he were old enough to choose, he'd want to be Spiderman or something, but I'm going to avoid that route a long as I'm still making the choices!

Anyone got any fun ideas?

Sorry fresh out. I'm having a hard time coming up with a costume for our little one as well. Sometimes I wish he could choose his own. The boys keep begging me to let him be Yoda. I haven't outed that idea yet just waiting for insperation to hit....

I didn't realize you made that outfit completely from scratch . . . I am impressed. Avery is going to be a ballerina this year because I want no mistake that she is a girl. Since she is struggling in the hair department. Speaking of hair . . . I love little Jack's hair-do where it is spiked in the middle, very cute.

i didn't realize either that you came up with that on your own. it was very cute and very well done! good work you talented girl!

good luck with a costume! if i come up with anything i'll let you know!

hey, laurel! sorry it's taken me a while to leave a comment on your blog (i have checked it a few times). thanks for your comments on my blog - i love comments, but need to recommit to posting them. anyhoo, it's fun to reconnect since i always loved running into you, and yes, you made me laugh too.

i'm MUCHO impressed with that leprachaun outfit. i agree you do deserve a break this year. not helpful with ideas since my best ideas as of late have been for girls (i bought evan a "jack-jack" costume on clearance at the disney store last year). one year i had lily be a mandrake from harry potter. i dressed her in brown, but a headband of leaves and branches on her head and then i carried her around in a huge pot. the snack is probably too old for that one. another year, we made jake a race car driver (just made a racecar out of big cardboard boxes that attached to his wheelchair), pat and i were mechanics and grace was a cheerleader. he's also been a cowboy, harry potter, knight, the cowardly lion, octopus, etc..., but those were all more to match our family themes. i think i'll stop rambling since i doubt any of these are helpful. laina's crazy hats that she made for the boy's school might give you inspiration. i thought that fish one was pretty cool (can't remember when she blogged about it - maybe last march?)

oh, and BELATED BIRTHDAY GREETINGS!! the big 3-0, eh? i hope this decade treats you well.

Love that picture. It was the perfect costume for him. So cute!

I think The Boy was a teddy bear at that age. If you're interested in the costume it's very cute and The Husband and I wore little teddy bear ears to match... aaw.

That is a clever idea. I can't believe you made it buy hand. I don't have any cute ideas. We always choose a theme as a family. I love to dress up!

Have you checked out any second hand stores? They will have their halloween stuff out. You should check if they have anything good.
Good Luck!
Oh- love the cute Leprechaun outfit too!!! Adorable!1966bt
